VitalWOOD Organic Nights

With the Organic Nights series by VitalWOOD, stress is placed on the organic origins of materials, such as beechwood (spring coils), cotton and horsehair (covers and comfort layers), wool, coconut fibers, horsehair and linen (protective layers), and latex (foams and protective layers). The intent by parent company Bio-Textima in developing this two-model series is to avoid as much as possible harmful chemicals and "electrosmog."

The user first encounters the 100% organic cotton cover fabric. Under this is a inner cover, cotton in the Organic Nights I and horsehair, cotton and wool in Organic Nights II. Just inside of these covers is the un-zoned comfort layer of 100% natural latex. The comfort section of the Organic Nights mattresses is designed to allow air to circulate for cooling and freshness. In the Organic Nights II, this latex is between and stitched to layers of organic wool and cotton-wool.

The beechwood coil springs for Organic Nights models are placed in orthopedically positioned holes in the 100% natural latex support core and filled with latex cylinders. The latex core is configured for air circulation. The wooden coils respond independently for pressure relief and motion neutrality.

The Organic Nights mattresses also utilize protective layers of compacted latex-imermeated coconut fibers with wool (the II also has linen). Both models have a protective layer under the mattress, and II adds one between the comfort layer and the support core.

The acceptable foundations for the VitalWOOD Organic Nights wooden coil mattresses are platform beds, European wood slat frames, and adjustable bases. These models carry the Bio-Textima 10-year warranty.

Organic Nights is not yet available in North America, but VitalWOOD expects to have models for sale in the United States and Canada in Spring 2015.
