Mattress Descriptions
Spa Sensations promises "body conforming comfort the moment you lie down" on their memory foam mattress. The Walmart Spa Sensations Memory Foam Mattress comes in 3 heights: 6, 8, and 10 inches. They boast a lush knit cover which is luxurious to the touch, BioFoam (see below) in the top layer, a second layer of super-soft foam, and the support base layer of high density foam.
The memory foam in the Walmart Spa Sensations Memory Foam Mattress has been developed to respond to body heat and pressure to customize the sleeping surface. The BioFoam, containing green tea extract, charcoal and natural castor seed oil, is designed to suppress chemical odors and stop the growth of bacteria.
Walmart caries this notice about the Spa Sensations Memory Foam mattresses:
Memory foam mattress is tightly packed and vacuum sealed, please allow several hours to return to original shape. There may be a faint odor from being sealed, this is normal and will disappear in a few hours when exposed to air.
According to Spa Sensations, the 12" Theratouch Memory Foam Mattress is their most popular mattress. It is the first Spa Sensations mattress at Walmart in online search results. It sports a smooth velour cover, promising comfort with the first touch.
The signature feature of this mattress is the 3 inches of Theratouch premium memory foam, which is claimed to conform instantly to the sleeper's body. This is made of visco elastic, which is temperature sensitive and responds to the heat of the body. Not only this, but the Theratouch premium memory foam in the Spa Sensations Theratouch Memory Foam Mattress contains BioFoam with EverGreen green tea extract, ActivCharcoal and natural seed oil to assist naturally in the elimination of chemical odors and the inhibition of bacterial growth. Underlying this is the Spa Sensations ventilated Aircool foam, designed to carry away heat before it builds up. Below this is the Support HD foam, 6 inches worth, to provide much-needed support.
Walmart claims that "the Spa Sensations 13-inch Channel Quilted Memory Foam Mattress offers the ultimate in luxury." The quilted top layer is 2" of fiber padding and memory foam. The fiber padding breathes for less build-up of heat, and the memory foam provides cushiony comfort. It is covered with "a rich and silky poly jacquard that includes bamboo rayon."
Heat-sensitive memory foam with BioFoam constitutes the second layer ot the Walmart Spa Sensations 13" Channel Quilted Memory Foam Mattress. The green tea extract, charcoal and castor seed oil combat odor and bacteria.
The third layer is made of 3 inches of pressure relief foam to prevent pressure points at key places: the head & shoulders, the hips, and the feet. And as in the above models, the fourth layer has 6 inches high density support foam for stability and durability.
The Walmart Spa Sensations Memory Foam & Spring Hybrid Mattress is a combination of an innerspring array and foam padding. The base layer is 7.5 inches high with heavy-guage individual springs to reduce motion transfer as well as increase mattress durability. On top of this is the padding, made of 1" each of memory foam and high density foam, topped with a half inch of quilted padding, bringing the height of this mattress to 10 inches.
According to Spa Sensations, "This innovative mattress brings together the best of both worlds: memory foam for feel-good body comfort and independent springs for the support you need with the reflex that only spring mattresses can provide."
In the Spa Sensations MyGel Memory Foam Mattress at Walmart, the open cell memory foam is infused with gel beads to provide both coolness and support. The gel beads promote the flow of air and help the memory foam to give better support. The cover made of yarn-dye jacquard has velveteen borders & decorative piping, which are intended to help keep the sheets in place.
