Craftmatic Model I Memory Foam

Model I Memory Foam adjustable beds by Craftmatic is really a series of models, differentiated by the mattresses they are paired with. Most have memory foam mattresses, while one has a latex mattress. The current models are: Nu Gel 12" Gel Infused Memory Foam, Model I Latex Mattress 12", and Model I Superior Memory Foam (8", 10", or 12"). The heights are those of the mattresses, not the adjustable frames.

The standard adjustable frame for the Model I Memory Foam adjustable beds is powered by Whisper Quiet motors with a 450# lifting capacity. This can be upgraded to the Craftmatic I, a heavy-duty frame (like the one for the Monaco Models) with a lifting capacity of 600 pounds.

Model I Memory Foam features include a full body wave massage. This has a 30-minute timer. Heat massage is optional.

The wireless remote has several programmable positions. According to Craftmatic, there are "over 1001 posture perfect positions" in combinations of head and foot elevations.

The Model I Memory Foam also share the Snore Silencing feature with Model I and Monaco Models adjustable beds. If one sleeper is bothered by the other sleeper's snoring, the snorer's head can be raised or lowered to silence the snoring without waking up that person.

The key to this series is the matresses. Each of models has a foam mattress (the other series offer innerspring mattresses). The support core of of the memory foam models is high density polyurethane foam. The comfort layers consist of memory foam or latex.

Nu Gel has two Eco Conscious Memory Foam comfort layers, 2½" of memory foam and 1½" of gel-infused memory foam. The cover is circular knit organic cotton.

The 12" Latex Mattress is two-sided. One side is Plush, and the other Firm. The middle layer is a high density 6" latex support core. On either side of this is a 2" latex foam comfort layer. The plush layer has an ILD of 24, the firm layer ILD 40. The comfort level of the mattress is selected by flipping the mattress over. In a split size adjustable bed, one sleeper can have Plush and the other Firm.

There are actually three Superior Memory Foam models of three different heights. Each has the HD poly foam support core with a comfort layer of CertiPur-US certified Eco Conscious Memory Foam. The cover is a circular-knit blend of polyester and organic cotton. The borders are Ultra Suede.

Each Craftmatic adjustable bed has a 30-day Craftmatic in-home trial (the base is non-returnable). The mechanisms of the frame have a lifetime warranty, while the mattresses' warranty is 15 years.

Craftmatic adjustable beds, including the Model I Memory Foam series, are ordered directly from the company or its sales representatives. Craftmatic also has a network of delivery, installation and service contractors.
