Simmons Beautyrest is a major manufacturer of quality mattresses. As part of the Serta-Simmons group, they have a partnership with adjustable bed manufacturer Ergomotion to co-design and manufacture adjustable foundations engineered specifically for Beautyrest mattresses.
At the 2016 Las Vegas Winter Market, Simmons introduced its updated Beautyrest line. On the mattress side, the Beautyrest Black Collection was re-introduced. But the real upgrade for Beautyrest is in its adjustable beds, with the unveiling of the SmartMotion Base.
The Simmons Beautyrest SmartMotion Adjustable Base is another notch in the current trend of smart beds, sleeping platforms that do more than follow the curves of a sleeper's body. Thanks to the development of medical monitoring systems and their application in the field of fitness training, this new area of health technology has come into the bedroom. Already in the market are smart beds by Sleep Number (the x12 airbed) and Customatic (iFit Sleep System). The latter company is already bringing a smart mattress, the CST Mattress, to market in 2016.
These firms are now joined by Serta-Simmons, using SleepTracker Technology in new adjustable beds: Serta's Motion Custom II and Beautyrest's SmartMotion.
