Soft-Tex Manufacturing Company is a textile and specialty sleep manufacturer located in Waterford, New York, north of Albany. It has three brands of its own, two made under licence for other manufacturers, and one of licensed products for Vicki Payne's For Your Home designer product line.

Soft-Tex says it has been in business since the beginning of 1986. It has an outlet store, a New York City showroom, a plant in South Carolina, and a representatve office in Shanghai. Among major retailers carrying Soft-Tex products are Macy's, Lowe's, Boscov's, Dillard's, Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Overstock. Their products are in the very affordable range.

Sensorpedic is Soft-Tex's flagship brand. BioPedic is primarily sold through Home Depot and Wayfair. SwissLux products are sold by Overstock.Com, a major online retailer. Each of these lines includes mattresses, mattress toppers and pads, pillows, and bed frames. A comparison of mattresses models shows strong correlation, so that equivalent models under these brands are essentially the same mattresses. In addition to the usual specialty sleep mattresses, the company now makes feather beds and fiber beds under the Sensorpedic, SwissLux and BioPedic brands.

Soft-Tex makes specialty pillows for Nature's Rest (the specialty sleep affiliate of Spring Air and Therapedic, part of a trend of bedding manufacturers focusing on their core signature products and having other manufacturers produce auxiliary items.

The mattress pad, pillows and toppers sold by designer line For Your Home are made by Soft-Tex. This is not unusual, for several bedding manufacturers supply designer collections with mattresses, pillows, etc.
