CRaVE Collection

In 2014, Carolina Mattress Guild introduced CRaVE, a new National Collection of innerspring mattresses. With 14 models in 5 series, the CRaVE Collection has several comfort levels and many configurations. The series (number of models) are Revita (2), Aura (3), Viva (3), Edge (4) and Classic (2). Each model is named after its comfort level, for instance Revita Firm. Here is the lineup:

The cover fabric material is not specified, but it is described as "gorgeous." In the Viva and Edge series, the side cover has vertical handles on each side of the bed. The tops of Edge models are quilted with fibers of wool and silk for a "more natural" fire barrier. The wool also wicks moisture away for a drier sleeping surface.

Among the comfort materials in these models are soy-based Comfort Foam, Cool Breeze gel memory foam, CoolTex gel-infused latex, and microcoils.

All series have soy-based Comfort Foam. This is the only foam used in the Revita and Classic series. The firmness and thickness and number of layers of the Soy Comfort Foam differs by model, determining or influencing the comfort level. Aura Series models have a single layer of soy-based Comfort Foam, while Viva models have two.

Aura, Viva and Edge series use Cool Breeze gel memory foam in the top for cooling. Edge Series mattresses also use Cool Breeze for lumbar support. Two Edge models have Cool Tex gel-latex foam in the top. Edge Ultra Plush Boxtop also has a 1,015-count 3" microcoil layer in the box top.

Series differ in their innerspring units. The Classic Series mattresses have open-ended coils with a coil count of 416. All the other series use individually wrapped pocket coils. The coil count is 660 for Revita, 713 for Aura and Viva, and 968 for Edge. The pocket coil innerspring units for the Aura, Viva and Edge series are zoned for more support under parts of the body needing additional support.

All CRaVE Collection mattresses except those in the Edge Series have full foam encasement for edge support. In place of foam, Edge Series models use coil encasement to protect the innerspring and provide edge support.

At the bottom of the mattress, Revita, Aura, Viva and Classic mattresses have a base-foam shock pad. This pad is not named in the descriptions of Edge mattresses, but it might be there.

The foundation for all CRaVE mattresses is a fabric-covered spruce-pine wood platform. The wood is from trees grown in North America forests. These are available in two heights: 9" standard and 5" low profile.

All CRaVE mattresses are covered by Carolina Mattress Guild's 10-year non-prorated limited warranty.
