UD Crazy Quilt Pillow Top

The 11" UD Crazy Quilt Pillow Top is the highest of the three Crazy Quilt models in the Foam Mattresses collection made by Brooklyn Bedding and marketed under the DreamFoam Bedding label. It is sold on Amazon as a DreamFoam Bedding mattress, but as a Brooklyn Bedding model by a few other retailers, including Wayfair and Walmart. The other models in this collection are the 7" UD Crazy Quilt Flat Top, the 9" UD Crazy Quilt Euro-Top, and the UD 12-IN-1 Customizable.

The "foam" in these "foam mattresses" is polyurethane foam, also known as polyfoam, a very versitile material which can range in firmness from ultra firm to ultra soft. In the Ultimate Dreams Crazy Quilt mattresses, the support core is extra firm polyfoam, the comfort layer is triple-zoned polyfoam centering about medium to plush (depending on the model), and the quilting foam is soft polyfoam. In the 11" Pillow Top model, this combines for a Medium Firm comfort level.

The support core of the UD Crazy Quilt Pillow Top is 8" of high density polyurethane foam with a weight of 1½ lbs. This is to allow softer materials above to do their job without sacrificing support.

Atop the support core is a comfort layer of softer TriZone Foam. This does not have one firmness level, since it is triple-zoned. It is firmer in the center section for more support to the heaviest portion of the body.

The cover fabric (most likely knit cotton, since this is specified for the Euro-Top model) is quilted to polyfoam. The height of this quilting is not figured into the 11" overall height of the mattress, probably due to its compression in use. The pillow top seen in the photo may be only the way the cover is made, since the height of the TriZone comfort layer is ⅜ that of the support core, and the pillow top is way too slim for this. However, the outward pillowtop configuration gives a softer feel to the edge without edge collapse.

The Crazy Quilt Pillow Top is made in the United States from US-made materials. The foams are certified by CertiPur-US as free from harmful substances.

Being a foam mattress, the UD Crazy Quilt Pillow Top needs solid support in a foundation. Meeting this requirement are platform beds (such as the one in the top photo), box bases with solid tops (such as Brooklyn/DreamFoam Bedding's Simple Life Foundation) and adjustable beds (DreamFoam sells the S-Cape by Leggett & Platt). Rotating this mattress (switching sides) regularly is recommended to prevent depressions and prolong mattress life.

The UD Crazy Quilt Pillow Top has a 45-day sleep trial period. It is covered by a 5-year warranty.
