Baroness Collection

The Baroness Collection is one of three collections of luxury innerspring mattresses made in the United States for Hypnos Beds of Great Britain. The other two mattress suites are the Countess Collection and the Monarch Collection. Baroness is the basic collection. Its models are not as featured (and expectedly not as expensive) as those in the other models. All these are crafted by master craftsmen and hand-tufted.

Master Craftsman at Work

Features shared with the other two collections are the pocketed coil innerspring, the three-row edge support of encased coils, natural fibers upholstery, and a cover of fine Belgian damask. These are in addition to other shared features (described in the Hypnos Beds USA page), such as Zip and Link Service, headboard options, sustainable sources of component materials, zoned Q Spring support system, and pairing with adjustable bases (divans are still an option).

Pocketed Coil Innerspring

The innerspring of Baroness Collection mattresses has over a thousand Q Springs, Hypnos Beds' individually-wrapped pocket coils. The turns of the coils are tighter at the ends and more open in the middle, giving these springs a continuum of response. The coils are nested (hexagonal formation) in the center third of the mattress for a higher coil count with firmer support under the lower back. The independent response of pocket coils makes them comforming for pressure relief and spinal support. This zoning enhances that property by making the innerspring more supportive under the low back and more conforming under the hips and shoulders.

Natural Fibers Upholstery

The upholstery in Hypnos Baroness Collection mattresses is New Zealand wool. Wool is naturally breathable and soft. Bound, it is also supportive. Compressed wool is also a natural flame barrier, negating the necessity of chemical fire retardants.

Belgian Damask Cover

The covers of Hypnos mattresses in the Baroness Collection are made of fine Belgian damask. The fiber is not named, but is probably cotton (it could also contain silk or wool).The cover is breathable, and it wicks moisture. This cover is tufted by hand to the upholstery layers for stability and durability.

If a divan is selected for the foundation of the Baroness Collection mattress, the customer can select upholstery fabric for the base which is compatible with the room decor. These mattresses are also compatible with adjustable beds by Leggett & Platt, which are the standard bases for this collection.

The Baroness Collection of Hypnos Beds in the United States has three models: Coral Extra Firm, Coral Plush and Juliet Luxury Firm. The three models are the same height. In King Size, two Twin XL mattresses can be linked together with Zip Link to make one bed with two comfort levels, one for each side.

Hypnos Beds Baroness Collection mattresses are covered by a 20-year warranty. They are now available through a few retailers, but availability is expected to expand, especially as more manufacturers (such as Jamison Bedding) are licensed by Paramount Sleep and Hypnos Ltd. to make and distribute these beds.
