The Monarch Collection is the highest of the three intitial Hypnos Beds USA collections of luxury innerspring mattresses. The other two are the Baroness Collection and the Countess Collection. Like models in the Countess Collection, Monarch Collection mattresses have all the features that Baroness Collection models have plus more.
The Monarch Collection consists of three models: Crystal Pillow Top Plush, Sapphire Euro Top Firm, and Sapphire Euro Top Plush. All three models are characterized by the extra contained layer on top which is sewn onto the mattress. The difference is explained by a US-Mattress article: A pillow top and a euro top are sewn to the mattress differently. The pillow top looks like a pillow on top of the mattress, while the euro top is sewn flush to the mattress sides, giving it a tighter feel.
Each of the mattresses in the three current collections of Hypnos Beds USA has an innerspring of pocket coils made with Hypnos's Q Springs. A Q Spring has 14 turns which are tighter at the ends than in the center. The coil has the outline of an elongated barrel. This makes the Q Spring a symmetrical variable response coil. The lighter response being at the widest point makes it more durable for the same wire gauge than the hourglass-shaped Bonnell coil.
Whereas Countess Collection mattresses add 1000+ NanoCoils, Monarch models add 4000+ minicoils, bringing the total coil count to over 5000. Minicoils increase the conformity of the mattress to the sleeper's body contours. A minicoil layer can be placed at any height within the mattress, even near the top, but in the absence of a direct statement of placement, it is presumed the minicoils are just above the innerspring, separated by a transition pad.
The upholstery of a Monarch Collection mattress has a pad made of camel hair. Hypnos USA says this "provides extra breathability and comfort." A property of natural animal hairs is that they are breathable and control moisture, thus regulating temperature.
The top upholstery layers of Monarch Collection mattresses are made of New Zealand wool, as in the Baroness and Countess collections, and natural Hevea Flex latex, as in the Countess models. Wool keeps temperatures moderate, while the resiliency of latex is for cushioning support.
The layers in the middle of a Monarch mattress are designed for ventilation. They consist of Joma cotton and horsehair. Ventilation keeps the interior of the mattress fresh and dry. It also cools the entire mattress.
The cover of Hypnos USA Monarch Collection mattresses is Belgian damask. The fiber is not named, but it could be cotton, silk, wool, linen or a blend of two or more of these. Another fiber candidate for a luxury mattress of this type is cashmere.
Athough Hypnos USA models are paired with adjustable beds from Leggett & Platt, they can also be used with a Hypnos divan. Among options for Monarch Collection mattresses are upholstered headboards and divan upholstery fabric compatible with room decor.
Mattresses in the Monarch Collection by Hypnos Beds USA come with a 20-year limited warranty.
