The 2015 edition of the Optimum Collection of gel foam mattresses by Sealy has five models or series: Destiny Gold, Radiance Gold, Inspiration Gold (Firm and Plush), Elation Gold, and the Gel Latex Series. Sealy "went for the gold" with the gel-infused memory foam mattresses: the Outlast material fused to the top gel memory foam layer is the new Outlast Gold. Also, the Gel OptiCore support cores have been raised from 6" to 7" high.
Destiny Gold is the entry level model in the 2015 Optimum Collection. Only 10" high, it has a 2" layer of OptiCool Gel Memory Foam. This layer is fused to Outlast Gold, the lastest level of PCM temperature regulating fibers. According to Sealy, Outlast Gold is 12 times more effective than gel in removing excess heat.
Beneath the OptiCool is a 1" layer of OptiSense Gel Memory Foam. The role of the gel in this foam is to enhance the contouring of the memory foam, described as "body-hugging."
The support layer in the Destiny Gold is 7 inches of Gel OptiCore. This is very firm high-density polyurethane support foam infused with gel.
The first foundation recommended for use with the Optimum Destiny Gold is the Optimum Foundation, called a "box spring" by some retailers, is either a torsion bar or platform box-style base designed especially to provide solid support for foam mattresses. Two other foundations compatible with the Optimum Destiny Gold sold by Sealy are the Reflexion Up Foundation and the Reflexion® 4 Adjustable Base.
The Sealy warranty on the Optimum Destiny Gold is for 10-years, non-prorated. This model is available through several retailers, in stores and online.
