Kessner Plush
The
Kessner Plush is unique in the
SmartSurface Elite Collection of
Perfect Sleeper innerspring mattresses made by
Serta. It is the only one of the six models to have the
ZoneActive™
5-Zone Topper. Along with the
Kessner Firm, it is one of the two lowest models in the collection. The
Kessner Plush shares its
SmartSurface Elite quilted cover, its 814
Free Flex Innerspring, and its
Cool Twist Gel Memory Foam comfort layer with the other
SmartSurface Elite mattresses.
The cover of the
Kessner Plush is a blend of
polyester with lycra and
rayon which is quilted to a
FireBlocker flame-retardant fiber pad,
Body Loft anti-microbial quilting fibers,
MicroSupport Gel infused into
latex foam, and half an inch of super-soft
PillowSoft foam.
The top upholstery (comfort section) of the
Kessner Plush is topped with the
ZoneActive™
5 Zone Topper. This
foam topper is designed with five zones. The comfort levels of the foam alternates through the zones. The objective of zoning is to cut down the building up of pressure by distributing body weight evenly. Areas of the body especially benefiting from this are the hips, shoulders and arms. This is intended to make
sleeping more comfortable.
An inch of
PillowSoft foam contributes to the
Kessner Plush's soft comfort level. It rests on the
Cool Twist Gel Memory Foam, which is
memory foam infused with liquid
gel. The memory foam conforms to body contours to reduce pressure, while the gel makes it more supportive and conducts heat away.

The
Insulator Pad ensures that the foam and the
coils do not interfere with each other.
Continuous coils were invented by
Serta. This technology is advanced another step with the
Free Flex Innerspring. The 814 coils (in Queen size) have the
TrueSense® coil design, which allows them to act more independently. This makes the support more conforming than with the original continuous coil design. Then
Custom Support provides zoning in the innerspring with an additional 25% of support in the middle of the mattress.

Edge support is provided by the
Total Edge foam encasement. This makes the sleeping surface 100% usable without rolling off. It also makes it comfortable and practical to sit on the edge.
Serta recommends its
Motion Essentials Adjustable Base as the
foundation for the
Kessner Plush mattress. This
adjustable bed is made by
Ergomotion. Also available is
Serta's
StabL-Base Foundation, an advanced-design
platform.
