The Royal-Pedic Pillow Top and Royal-Pedic Cloud Pillow Top mattresses are the pillowtop versions of the All Cotton mattress by Royal-Pedic. Whereas the All Cotton is the firmest of the Royal-Pedic mattresses (1 on a scale of 1-5), the Pillow Top is medium (3) and the Cloud Pillow Top is very plush (5). The Pillowtop is about 13.5" and the Cloud 15.5" high (these dimensions vary, since each mattress is made to order).

The heart of these enhanced Royal-Pedic innerspring mattresses is the Swiss designed Royal-Flex® 704i Innerspring System. It has 85% more coils than standard innerspring mattresses. The open-ended coils have only six turns and are untied. This leaves them free and more flexible for responding the contours and weight of a sleeper's body.

Like the All Cotton mattresses, the Pillow Top and Cloud Pillow Top have compressed cotton padding above and below the innerspring core. This long staple cotton, which is hand-layered by the Royal-Pedic craftspersons, provides firm cushioning, suitable for orthopedic needs. No polyurethane foam is used in Royal-Pedic mattresses. This avoids outgassing of smelly and toxic fumes.

The cotton padding is enclosed in cotton ticking - no synthetic fibers. Hand tuftung with English tufting straps keeps the layers in place. The quilted pillowtops are sewn to the mattress, one on each side. This symmetry makes the mattress flipable, which prolongs the expected life of the mattress. The Cloud Pillow Top mattress adds a latex layer to each side. making it plushier than the Pillow Top.

The cover is Belgian cotton damask quilted with French wool. This wool has not been treated with any chemicals. The wool is a natural fire barrier and flame retardant, meeting federal flammability standards without chemicals. It is also hypoallergenic (except for persons with wool allergies). This wool, along with a layer of latex, provides additional cushioning, adding soft comfort to the firm support of the cotton.

A T-Spring Side Support System provides edge support, both to the innerspring and to the sleeping surface.

The recommended base is the 8" Royal-Pedic Double Diamond Box Spring, which is constructed by hand with 8.75 gauge coils. The coil density is greater in the middle third of the box spring for more support where 60% of the body weight is concentrated. The springs are covered with a layer of cotton to cushion and protect the mattress. The frame under the box spring may be metal or wood. The wooden one has a slatted surface.

The Royal-Pedic Pillow Top and Royal-Pedic Cloud Pillow Top mattresses carry a 10-year warranty.
