Royal-Pedic Quilt Top & Organic Quilt-Top Mattresses
The Royal-Pedic Quilt Top and Organic Quilt-Top mattresses feature long staple cotton, wool, and the Royal-Flex innerspring system. The cotton is grown in California and Texas. The wool is from sheep raised in France. And the innerspring system is engineered in Switzerland.

The Swiss designed Royal-Flex® 704i Innerspring System is made of double-heat tempered steel wire. The 6-turn coils are open-ended and not knotted, making them more flexible and sensitive to the contours of sleepers' bodies. Royal-Pedic says this provides better "overall body support and relaxation." The coil counts are 85% greater than in standard mattresses.

The perimeter of the Royal-Flex® 704i Innerspring System is supported by T-spring side supports. This also serves as edge support for the whole mattress, including the sleeping surface.

On either side of the innersprings, long staple cotton padding is hand-layered by Royal-Pedic artisans. The cotton is pre-stressed (compressed), bound and wrapped in cotton fabric, to make it more suitable for orthopedic applications. It is kept in place with hand-tufted European tufting straps.

The long staple cotton in the Royal-Pedic Organic Quilt-Top mattress is certified organic, as is the latex.

The quilted cover is made of Belgian cotton, French wool, latex, and Comfort Fill. The French wool is untreated, washed with soap & water instead of chemicals. Wool is naturally flame retardant, and is also resistant to dust mites. The Comfort Fill is to give a softer feel. And the latex is there to provide pressure relief and cushioning.

The recommended foundation for the Royal-Pedic Quilt Top and Organic Quilt-Top mattresses is the Royal-Pedic Double Diamond Box Spring. This box spring is zoned, with greater coil density in the central third. This is to provide more support for the critical lower back area, helping the sleeper to maintain correct spinal posture. Royal-Pedic claims their box spring has 22% greater coil density overall than the average box spring.

The Royal-Pedic Quilt Top is 13" high, and the Royal-Pedic Organic Quilt Top is 12".
