The Killingsworth Foam and the Howerton Foam are the two memory foam mattresses in the 2015 Perfect Sleeper Collection by Serta. While the other 14 models have innerspring support units, these two models have 6" high support cores of high-resiliency polyurethane foam.
In 2015, these models along with the higher-end innerspring mattresses brought Serta's Cool Action® Gel Memory Foam to the Perfect Sleeper Collection. This gel foam is already featured in iComfort mattresses. Serta's Micro-Support Gel infused into the memory foam was engineered for more than cooling. It is intended to make the foam more supportive while still conforming.
Both the 10" Killingsworth and the 12" Howerton have 2" each of Cool Action and Serta PillowSoft Foam in the comfort layers. The PillowSoft beneath the Cool Action makes the mattress softer.
The Howerton Foam adds another 2" of foam above the Cool Action, 1" each of EverCool Memory Foam and PillowSoft Foam. The EverCool is another import from iComfort mattresses, where it is featured on select models, such as the iComfort Savant. Like the Cool Action, it is used for both cooling and support. The difference is that instead of gel, this memory foam is infused with a form of graphite. The Howerton is like the Savant in its construction, but half an inch higher.
The covers of the Killingsworth and the Howerton memory foam mattresses are a quilted stretch knit fabric. The materials are not specified by Serta or its retailers, but unless specified otherwise, Serta cover fabrics tend to be polyester.
The Killingsworth Foam and the Howerton Foam are paired with three foundations. The StabL Base Foundation is Serta's advanced design box spring with V-shaped rods providing steadier support than the traditional coil-type box springs. The Pivot Head-Up is an adjustable up foundation—only the head can be elevated. The Motion Essentials II is one of the full-range adjustable beds sold by Serta.
The Killingsworth Foam and the Howerton Foam are covered by Serta with a 10-year non-prorated manufacturers warranty. These mattresses are available through several retailers, as well as online from Serta.
