Sleep Number Veterans Day Special Edition Bed

Select Comfort, doing business as Sleep Number, has special edition Sleep Number (SN) beds for holiday sales. The Veterans Day Special Edition Bed, also known as CSE, is in the SN Classic Series. As such, it shares features with the Classic Series airbeds, such as c2, c3 and c4. It is actually closest to the c4. Model cSE (2013) has already been reviewed on Beds.Org. However, some changes have been made since cSE was reviewed here, so we will highlight what's new.

Like the 2013 edition of the CSE, the 2015 Sleep Number Veterans Day Special Edition Bed is 10" high with a quilted pillow top. Also, the two editions of this model have knit covers, as does the c4, while the c2 has a woven cover.

The foam comfort layer of the 2013 cSE was 1½" of 5-zoned convoluted polyurethane foam. The 2015 Veterans Day Edition has 2" of foam. It is still zoned to specialize comfort and support for areas of the body. And, as can be seen in the cutaway view above, this layer is still convoluted for conformity.

The greatest change for this model, and for Sleep Number beds in general, is the implementation of SleepIQ® technology. The purpose of this innovation is to give the users of Sleep Number airbeds more control over their sleep. According to Select Comfort, SleepIQ enables you to "View your sleep" and know how to adjust your Sleep Number bed for the best results. One of these results (for a couple) is to "Sleep better together."

SleepIQ ties in to an app the customer can install on a mobile device or a computer. It shows the user the SleepIQ score for each night's sleep and the settings for that night. This is smart technology. It measures vital signs and movements throught the sleep session for both partners. SN says it "optimizes your sleep." Then they go on to say the user will know what adjustments to make. So it appears that the program either makes some adjustments on its own (that already is done for adjustable beds with the Customatic iFit Sleep System), or it is the user who actively optimizes the settings.

The Sleep Number Veterans Day Special Edition Bed works best on a foundation with a solid surface. Sleep Number offers four of these. One is the platform type Modular Base. The other three are adjustable beds: FlexFit™ 1, FlexFit™ 2, and FlexFit™ 3.

The Sleep Number Veterans Day Special Edition Bed is engineered and built in the United States. Select Comfort has a 100-Night Trial for this adjustable air mattress, and covers it with a 25-Year Limited Warranty.
