The Dream Weaver brand of waterbed mattresses (spelled Dreamweaver by some retailers) is the higher-value line of hardside waterbed mattresses made by Vinyl Products Manufacturing (the other brand is Discovery). It is also more diverse, consisting of the Ultimate Collection (Fiber Firm and Gold Star series plus the Ultimate Full Motion model) and the Lumbar Elite Collection. The water support cores of VP's Feather Edge Flotation softside waterbeds are Dream Weaver models.
All Dream Weaver waterbed mattresses have 3D-Lap™ folded seams. 3-D construction reduces the number or welds, which Vinyl Products claims makes the mattress stronger. Quote:
"Since Vinyl Has A, “Memory” And Seems Which Are Welded Flat Want To Remain Flat, The 3-D Lap Seams Are Located On The Sides of The Mattress Instead of what Is Sometimes Called, “The L-Corner”. This Way They Can Be Supported By The Water Pressure Against The Frame. In The “DreamWeaver”, Mattress Seams Remain Flat For Maximum Strength And Seam Stress Reduction."
All fibers used in VP water mattresses are made in the USA by DuPont.
There are four Fiber Firm models listed: Fiber Firm II, Fiber Firm III, Fiber Firm 4, and Fiber Firm 6. All are 9" high. FF II, labeled Semi-Firm (50% waveless), has 2" of wave-reduction fiber. There are 4" of fiber in FF III is Extra-Firm (80% waveless), 6" in FF 4 Super-Firm (95%), and 8" in FF 6 Ultra-Firm (99%).
Gold Star is called "the original wave reduced waterbed mattress." It differs from Fiber Firm models in having the fiber on the bottom instead of at the top of the water chamber. This is described as "Soft-Yielding." One 9" Gold Star model (80% waveless) with 6" of fiber is listed with hardside waterbeds, but two 4" high Gold Star models are water cores in The Swan and The Dove softside Feather Edge Flotation mattresses.
The Ultimate Full Motion waterbed mattress has no wave reduction. This is the original configuration of waterbeds.
Vinyl Products' Lumbar Elite Collection features lumbar support construction. Four models are listed by VP: Lumbar Elite FX, Lumbar Elite S, Lumbar Elite Plus UX, Lumbar Elite. These models have various combinations of beaded and unbeaded fiber. FX is 85% waveless with 6" beaded in the head and foot and 8" in the lumbar area. Plus UX and Lumbar Elite have 10" beaded fiber in the head and foot and 14" of beaded fiber under the lumbar. SX has 10" of beaded fiber in the head and 8" in the foot, with 16" of non-beaded fiber in the lumbar area. Those other than the FX are 99% waveless.
Dream Weaver waterbed mattresses are carried by Wayfair and Waterbeds Plus as well as many lesser-known retailers. They are covered by a 14-year warranty with 5 years full coverage and 9 years prorated.
