The first mattresses by Vinyl Products Manufacturing (VP) were hardside waterbeds. Like so many other waterbed manufacturers, they also began making airbeds, but waterbeds are still the major portion of the VP product line.
Vinyl Products has three brands of waterbeds: Feather Edge Flotation, Dream Weaver, and Discovery. The Feather Edge Flotation models are softside waterbeds. Those under the Discovery and Dream Weaver brands are hardside models.
Feather Edge Flotation waterbeds have the same model names as the Feather Edge Adjustable Air Beds. Like Convert-A-Bed models under the Comfort Craft and Luxury Support brands by InnoMax, these are the same beds with different support systems.
I don't know if Dream Weaver is VP's oldest brand, but their description leads me to think so with statements like, "Nothing but the Original" and "We're the oldest manufacturer in the industry."
The third Vinyl Products waterbed brand is Discovery and Discovery Plus. The banner statement reads, "Economy with quality: a better night’s sleep means a better day tomorrow!" The designs seem to be more innovative than those in Dream Weaver, lending credibility to the priority of the Dream Weaver brand. Some of the models are not symmetrical, with more layers at one end than the other.
Not surprisingly, VP's hardside waterbeds are less expensive than their softside waterbeds and their airbeds.
All Vinyl Products waterbeds boast of being made in America, including their components. They are carried by several retailers. Online, Wayfair seems to carry the most Vinyl Products waterbed models. The limited warranty is for 10 years with the first 3 at full coverage.
